These operating accounts are of complete coverage. The sample size of each type of ship has been grossed up to totals with reference to the total value of catch by type of ship as estimated by Statistics Iceland and Directorate of Fisheries. The sample size was as follows: Boats less than 10 GRT 82%; boats 10-200 GRT 91%; boats over 200 GRT 71%; pelagic vessels 94%; fresh fish trawlers 83% and freezer trawlers 100% or 88% of the total. Included in the freezer trawlers operating account are a few trawlers that freeze pelagic species.
