The fish catch index is an annual chain-linked index, updated monthly, having the monthly average of 2004 as a reference period. The base year each time is the last fishing year which is from September in year T-2 to August in year T-1. Since no capelin was landed in 2019-2020 the average capelin price from 2018 is used for 2019 calculations, while the average price for 2021 is used for 2020-2022. Index value of catch in fixed prices has not been updated since April 2022 due to uncertainty in the quality of the data used for the index.
