Harmonised indices of consumper prices have been calculated from 1996. The reference period was changed in January 2005 and January 2016. Until 2016 monthly and annual changes are calculated for the index 2005 = 100 but from 2016 for the index 2015 = 100.
European regulation (EU. 792/2016) on HICPs allows the revision of the indicess.
The HICP in Iceland was corrected on May 19th 2022 due to an error in Ecoicop 0211 (Spirits) from January 2016 and in Ecoicop 0724 (Other services in respect of personal transport equipment) from January 2019.
