Reference 4th quarter 2005 = 100. All calculations are based on prices in ISK. They are also based on numbers with full decimals. This can result in discrepancies in published data.

On 21. September, the publication of the producer price index was updated. The calculations, the index is based on, remain unchanged, but the representation of the data changed.
The time format was updated which means that, instead of 2009 (Year) and January (Month), users now select one variable that contains the combined data, e.g. 2009M01. The annual average numbers are now published in a separate table.
The codes for the API have changed and are now more descriptive.
Publication of several subindices has been discontinued. They include 021 Shrimp, 032 Fish oil, 033 Fishmeal and fish oil, 034 Salted herring, 036 Salted and frozen herring and XDR exchange rate.
