In some instances data is not available for the reference year so data closest to the year is used. Newest figures refer to 2004. Oldest figures on employed full-time and part-time refer to 1983 and cover married people working 40-52 weeks a year (full-time) and less than 40 weeks a year (part-time). Unemployment rates 1975 and 1985 refer to registered unemployment.
