The independent right of fathers to paternity leave was one month in 2001, two months in 2002 and three months as of
2003. The independent right of mothers to maternity leave is three months. The parents can then share other three
months. Illness of children, mother and mulitiple births can increase the number of days a parent is entitled to. Preliminary figures.
