Students studying in Iceland, from the first year of upper secondary education and onwards, domiciled in a municipality in Iceland. Enrolment is the proportion of students in the corresponding age group within a region according to the population in December each year until the year 2011, but from that year November 1st is the reference date.
When data were updated in July 2024, the reference day for data from the National Population Register was changed from December to November 1st, back to the year 2011. With this change the values for sex and domicile may have changed from previously published data. In addition, changes in the classification of programmes were updated back to the year 2007.
The year in the table refers to the first year in the school year, thus 2015 refers to the school year 2015-2016.
