The data include all graduates at the upper secondary level in the school year 2018-2019, who have graduated from lines of study that are at least of two years duration. Some have completed both a general and a vocational programme and are counted both in the data on graduates in general and vocational education, but only once in the total.
Their status in October 2019 is examined, i.e. if they are registered students according to Statistics Iceland's student register and at which level of education.
Students abroad are those who have received a loan to study abroad from The Icelandic Student Loan Fund.
Data from the Pay-as-you-earn register from October 2019 are used to depict status in the labour market for those not enrolled in education.
