Re-entrants are those who have again taken up studying at the tertiary or doctorate level in Iceland after having taken a break from their studies for at least one school year, according to the Statistics Iceland student register. The information is based on data from the middle of the autumn semester. The top line in the column ISCED level depicts those who are re-entrants at either ISCED levels 5 or 6. When 5A, 5B or 6 are selected re-entrants at each of these levels can be obtained. It is not possible to add the number of re-entrants at levels 5A, 5B and 6 to obtain the total number of re-entrants at levels 5 and 6, since then some re-entrants will be double-counted. Education is classified according to the international classification of education ISCED97.
