New entrants are those who are studying at the tertiary or doctorate level in Iceland for the first time according to the Statistics Iceland student register. The net entry rate is computed by dividing the number of new entrants of a particular age by the population of the same age and then the rates are added up. Education is classified according to the international classification of education ISCED97.
