Production yield for food from raw materials are based on research by MAST and coefficients published by FAO on product utilization. There are also some arbitrary decisions about which products are considered food and what are not.
Information on the production of food products from fish is rather unreliable, as the processing of fish is complex and many decisions in the processing process that cannot be assumed affect the amount of food that is produced. is processed from the raw material
