Deaths during neonatal period

Figures for the period prior to 1981 relate to 30 days instead of 28.

Late fetal mortality relates to fetus born after 28 weeks of gestation showing no sign of life. Late fetal mortality is shown as a function of total births (live births and late fetal deaths).

Perinatal mortality

Mortality prior to 28 days of life (per 1.000 life births).

Neonatal mortality

Mortality prior to 28 days of life (per 1.000 life births).

Infant mortality rate

Mortality of live-born babies dying before their first birthday (per 1.000 live births).
