Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

Values here are part of the data from the AEA, Non-greenhouse gasses are omitted here for clarity. Warming values (CO2 equivalents) are calculated based on greenhouse gas emissions and global warming potential coefficients from the IPCCC database (https://www.ipcc-nggip.iges.or.jp/EFDB/main.php).
The industry sectors of the economy here are based on the NACE64*rev 2 breakdown of national accounts, Statistics Iceland's ISAT2008 breakdown is compatible with this breakdown.
It should be noted here that the emissions that occur within Iceland's economy are similar but not the same as the emissions that occur within Iceland's territory, but those figures are published in Iceland's national climate accounting (NIR) published by the Environment Agency. The NIR accounting is the accounting that applies to the bookings of the United Nations Framework Conferene of Climate Change (UN-FCCC).
Differences in AEA and NIR arise as Icelanders' operations (the economy) can be anywhere in the world, but NIR accounting only looks at emissions that are within the continental shelf of Iceland, regardless of what economy causes the emissions.
In the AEA accounting there are appendices ('where of:' and 'except for:' items), intended to improve consistency between these accounts.
This difference inevitably causes confusion, but these calculations are not intended for the same purpose. The choice of what is included in the NIR accounting is based on an intergovernmental agreement. Items included in AEA are defined by to the economic definition of what defines economies. The underlying calculation methodology is, however the same for both accounts (defined by the IPCCC).
